Key Findings

Multidisciplinary Education Trends:� Across device and pharma sectors, medical education leaders have embraced multidisciplinary education programs for both accredited and non-accredited courses.

•The move to multidisciplinary programs is designed to achieve better outcomes and lower costs. Three-quarters of each segment said the driving force behind the interest in multidisciplinary programs is the current focus on health outcomes, which requires coordination among disciplines

•More than 80 percent of both segments use multidisciplinary education programs.

•Nearly 50 percent of all programs are multidisciplinary across both segments.

•Most companies forecast continued multidisciplinary program growth in the next 2-3 years.

Educator Impact Ratings Vary By Segment: The Pharmaceutical and� Medical Device sectors assess somewhat different impact values to different professionals that serve as HCP educators.� Both sectors rate external MDs as highly effective� physician educators – but 100% of Medical Device companies rate them “highly effective” while only 63% of pharma rate them highly effective.
